The “Why”of Our Works · for Goals vs. Nurturing Our Nature
⁘ “People at work. Informal works, daily chores, busy with our hobbies. But engaged in works all the same. Some of it to sustain our lives. Some of it to fulfill our potentials. The real question is, why do you work and how do you work? To achieve those goals — or to nurture your awareness and evolution in life?”
Wherever you turn your gaze, you find people at work.
Some of them informal works.
Some of them handling their daily chores.
Some busy with their hobbies.
But engaged in works all the same.
Some of it to sustain our lives.
Some of it to fulfill our potentials.
All the same, work we must.
Unless you are one of those lazy bums, half-baked hermits,
fleeing to the solitude of a monastery.
Even there, you are working hard to escape from your life.
The real question then isn't, what is the nature of your work.
The real question is, why do you work and how do you work.
Typically, we are very goal-oriented.
The "why" of our works is in the result, the outcome,
what we harvest from our works.
Where the process of working itself is something
that must happen in order to get that outcome,
achieve that goal.
The catch there is that when the "why" of the work is in the work itself...
Doing it, you must engage in works in tune with your nature.
In that, the outcome is better than in simple pursuit of the results.
We work in a manner where every aspect of the works
is connected with our awareness and evolution.
