If it's a yes, then establish and declare a yes.
If it's a no, then establish and declare a no.
If it's a maybe, then establish and declare a maybe.
But do not simply bypass.
Bypassing,
pretending that something does not exist,

When you are uncertain on how you should respond,
then simply establish and declare your uncertainty,
rather than entering into calculations of
what if I say this, or don't say this and that, and blah blah blah,
and how will that reflect on me?

and then we have something we can go by, move on into the future.
