Hippie Jesus compassion: Indiscriminate kindness. Many claim their spiritual aura by being always sweet and agreeable. Never object to anything. Avoiding confrontation. Enablers of illusion. But bitter essence leads to clarity. Be real.
From the Buddha: Goodwill, compassion, delight and equanimity. Sorrow for the sorrow of others. Joy for the joy of others. Broad spectrum goodwill. Detached equanimity. Infinite fields of awareness beyond your self-imposed limits.

Into a quartet of vast and noble abidings of awareness. Empathic bridges into the sorrows and delights of other beings. Broad-reaching benevolence — detachment from over-involvement. These mature into vast fields of universal awareness.
Genuine compassion stems from an empathic connection. You feel the suffering of the other. Essential underlying sameness. Why do we often do not feel that compassion? Such are the cold silos we build for ourselves...
It's not that your myths and esoteric models — interfaces to your life and awareness — are worthless. But we do need to tether them into "what is". Don't let that "alternative reality" become a one-way escape ticket from here and now.
Who doesn't love a good tale, an epic legend, that deep yonder myth. It resonates with of us on a deep level — as if carrying mystic essence from beyond. A field of reflection — mirror for the essence in ourselves. How do we work with it?
